Job Description

We are currently seeking an Account Manager. To be successful in this role, candidates must possess experience and knowledge of electrical controls, radio remotes, hydraulics, pumps, valves, manifolds, cylinders, and fittings.

Through our brands: Hose Technology, Multi-Flow Solutions Inc. and Hetronic Canada, we are able to offer solutions to Original Equipment Manufactures, distributors, aftermarket sales and end users. Our reputation was built in fluid conveyance, and this has since extended to fluid power and controls.


Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America’s largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMi Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.

 

The Account Manager will be a motivated, self starter that will represent The UMI Group Inc. at customer locations within the province of British Columbia and Western Canada. Travel will be required. Reporting to the President you will assist in maintaining commitments as we expand, grow key accounts by bringing in new business, and by developing existing business relationships. This will require that you call on engineers, operations, inside sales, purchasing, and others to determine the client's needs through a consultative approach to help clients achieve superior performance.


Shift: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (May have to schedule meetings after or before scheduled work hours).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow existing customer base in British Columbia and Western Canada.
  • Represent The UMI Group Inc. as a key point of contact for important OEM accounts by anticipating client direction and objectives, responding to customer product inquires, and promoting existing and new products.
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers, identify and leverage the customers’ business goals, growth strategies, profit drivers and deliver the appropriate value proposition strategy.
  • Accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within a designated sales territory and key accounts.
  • Manage a robust sales territory, recommend, and evaluate new territory opportunities.
  • Responsible for securing and maintaining distribution of products and maintaining effective agreements.  
  • Proactively work with management and related support departments to ensure on time customer service needs are met or exceeded.
  • Communicate and support programs and procedures to assist in distribution, market product and/or crimper equipment training at customer levels. 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages, and benefits. 
  • Attend training and sales meetings as required, maintain cooperative and productive team relationships. 
  • Work cross functionally within the company to communicate with all stakeholders in customers' success.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Post secondary bachelor’s degree, diploma, or skilled trade in mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical discipline, and/or minimum of 3 years of account management in direct and/or distributor sales of industrial technical products.
  • Technical background and understanding of radio remotes, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to articulate and accustomed to a client facing role.
  • Strong negotiating, influencing and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Computer software proficient (SAP, CRM, Microsoft Suite, Excel. Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote Outlook, Teams)
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to conduct themselves in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Fluent in French and English (both orally and written) would be considered an asset.
  • Driven with the desire to contribute to a winning culture.
  • Valid provincial driver’s license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
